Outside of clinical practice, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active. I am particularly interested in golf, which I play regularly, and I also enjoy time outdoors with our dogs.
About Dr Sachin Jauhar
I am a Consultant and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School. I am on the specialist list with the General Dental Council in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Endodontics.
My clinical work focuses on the assessment and management of complex dental problems, including failing treatment, multidisciplinary cases, and long-term restorative planning. I work in specialist practice alongside my role as a part-time NHS Consultant.
I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2002 and initially worked in general dental practice before moving into hospital-based training. I completed my Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and went on to undertake a five-year specialist training programme in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics.
I passed the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Restorative Dentistry and was awarded Fellowship in Dental Surgery in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. I was appointed as an NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in 2009 and also hold a Master of Science (MSc Med Sci) by research from the University of Glasgow.
Alongside clinical work, I am actively involved in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate dentists. I have held a number of educational and leadership roles, including Training Programme Director for the West of Scotland Restorative Specialist Training Programme and Chair of the Specialist Training Committee for Restorative Dentistry in Scotland. I am also an examiner for Royal College examinations, including the MFDS and the Intercollegiate Specialist Examination in Restorative Dentistry.
I provide independent expert witness opinions in restorative dentistry and related disciplines. I have completed the Expert Witness Certificate through the University of Aberdeen Law School and Bond Solon.
My approach is centred on careful diagnosis, clear explanation, and developing treatment plans that are predictable and maintainable in the long term.
